Bio
Donovan is an energetic “20 Under 40” award winner with a focus on developing leaders, inspiring positive change, and innovating work cultures. This passionate educator has 15+ years of professional experience at three diverse universities: University of Nevada Las Vegas, University of Georgia, and The University of Toledo. Donovan currently serves as the doctoral teaching assistant in the Higher Education Program at The University of Toledo and previously worked as the assistant dean for Student Involvement & Leadership. This optimistic innovator has worked extensively in student affairs and has a proven track record for transforming groups into high-functioning, award-winning organizations. Donovan has been recognized for excellence in assessment, software implementation, collaboration, service, leadership, and organization development. As a self-proclaimed recovering workaholic, Donovan is passionate about helping people live happier, healthier, and more balanced lives.
Donovan holds a bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in mathematics and a master’s degree in higher education administration. He is a current Ph.D. candidate in higher education administration at The University of Toledo. As a former engineering student turned communication major, Donovan knows how to strategically approach culture change through caring and honest dialogue. Donovan embraces his doctoral research on work-life balance by enjoying time with his wife Alycia, two sons Sawyer and Knox, four dogs, guitar, and Rubik’s Cube.
